Watermaker for Commercial Vessels

SCW-500 and SCW-1000 industrial watermaker applications

Daily freshwater demand on commercial vessels — accommodation, galley and auxiliary systems — can reach tonnes. SCW-500 (500 L/hour) and SCW-1000 (1000 L/hour) are industrial models designed for continuous production; yacht-range SCW-30–150 is undersized for this load.

Our which watermaker guide lists SCW-500/1000 for commercial ships, large fishing vessels and shipyards, requiring 380V / 50Hz (440V/60Hz supported). Capacity, power feed and mounting space are confirmed after survey.

Industrial Segment
  • 500–1000 L/hour
  • 380V three-phase AC
  • Modular plant layout
  • Remote monitoring / automation

SCW-500 vs SCW-1000

Model Capacity Power Typical application Detail
SCW-500 PRO 500 L/hour 380V / 50Hz — 440V / 60Hz Commercial ship, 30–40 m motor yacht, large trawler View
SCW-1000 PRO 1000 L/hour 380V / 50Hz — 440V / 60Hz Large commercial ship, fishing fleet, gulet fleet View

Our locations page defines 500–1000 L/hour industrial systems for the commercial segment. Daily need ÷ hourly capacity = run hours follows the same logic as our capacity guide.

Why SCW-30–150 Is Not Enough

Insufficient capacity

High daily litres on commercial ships; small models need 6+ hours per day — capacity guide points to a larger unit.

Power mismatch

SCW-500/1000 connect to industrial 380V; they do not run directly on 12V or 230V generator only.

Installation and Infrastructure

SCW-500 and SCW-1000 are modular PRO series; engine-room layout plans feed pump, filter bank and high-pressure unit together. Commercial port pages such as Bandırma and Ereğli highlight 380V three-phase requirement; SCW-150/350 is assessed separately on 230V fishing vessels.

Application Scenarios

Ro-Ro / cargo (Marmara)

Bandırma, Gemlik, İzmit gulf commercial traffic; lower Marmara salinity (~2.3–2.6%). SCW-500/1000 engine-room integration at 380V.

Large fishing fleet

Maintenance discipline

Continuous commercial operation makes filter and 250-hour pump oil intervals critical — maintenance guide, spare parts schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

SCW-30–150 are undersized for commercial ships. See which watermaker and the SCW-500/1000 table in this article.

Calculate daily litres; divide by hourly capacity targeting 2–5 hours per day. If 500 L/hour is not enough, consider SCW-1000. Final choice is made at survey with crew, tank volume and 380V capacity.

On 230V mid-size trawlers and commercial craft, SCW-350 (350 L/hour) may be the practical upper limit. 380V conversion or generator upgrade is a survey topic — non-standard shortcuts are not recommended.

Book a survey first; engine room, power feed and tank routing are planned on site. Details: watermaker installation process. Install scope is confirmed after survey.
